Oorebomi (Bomi) Akarakiri is a research and policy leader focused on youth voice, economic opportunity, and the social consequences of emerging technology. She serves as Research and Policy Director at the Young People’s Alliance, where her work spans advocating against manipulative human-like AI features, expanding apprenticeships, and pushing for economic systems that allow young people to build real, sustainable lives.

A first-generation Nigerian-American who grew up in South London, Bomi graduated summa cum laude from Howard University after completing more than 13 internships and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in international relations at Johns Hopkins SAIS. She brings a grounded, global perspective to conversations about AI, asking who benefits, who is excluded, and how policy can better reflect lived experience.
