Alex Kotran is bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and the classrooms that need it most. As Co-Founder and CEO of the AI Education Project, he’s leading a nationwide effort to ensure every student—regardless of background—understands the world that AI is building around them.
Before launching the AI Education Project, Alex built the AI Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility function at H5, one of the first AI companies in the legal sector. There, he forged partnerships with the United Nations, NYU School of Law, and the OECD to shape global conversations about responsible AI.
His path to education leadership runs through policy, tech, and public service—managing communications for brands like Oracle, Airbnb, and Adobe; serving as a Field Organizer for the 2012 Obama Campaign; and later as a Presidential Appointee at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he helped steer national outreach during the Affordable Care Act rollout and the 2015 Ebola response.
