David Bowman

David Bowman leads the cybersecurity program for Jordan School District, one of the largest K-12 districts in Utah, where he defends the digital lives of nearly 60,000 students and 7,500 staff. He serves on the State of Utah Cyber Commission, chairs the Statewide IT Directors Council, and chairs the Statewide K-12 Cybersecurity Council.

In addition to district work, he teaches cybersecurity and cloud systems as an adjunct professor, and calls himself, on a good day, a technology evangelist. His public work centers on holding EdTech vendors accountable for how they handle student data, and on the argument that districts should stop voting only with the dollar and start voting with the data.
